Chickens

Free Range Chickens

Here are some of our exotic chickens, roaming the farm. These are a young Sexlet, 2 white Silkies, and a rooster.

Free Ranging

Here are 2 Americana crosses wandering outside their pen. These chickens produce light blue and pink colored eggs.

Our Old Warrior Rooster

Our old warrior rooster has survied several encounters with our LGD and has lived to fight another day. Housed with the Sexlet egg laying chickens, he is the main rooster here at Stokes Creek, LLC Farm. During his last battle, he lost all of his tail feathers, but is still a handsome bird.

Roosting in the Strangest Places

We had gone on a day trip and were late returning to the farm. We found this rooster sleeping on our car's sideview mirror when we arrived back home after dark. Once we opened the Avery door, he gladly joined the other chickens for a proper night's sleep.

Mother and Chicks

A Mother with her clutch of baby chicks.

Silver Silkie

Here's a Silver Silkie in the Avery. We keep a few silkies on the farm, but separte them from the laying chickens. Because the silkies are a smaller bird and thier head feathers tend to restrict their vision, we've found it best to keep them separate from the other breds of chickens.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Stokes Creek, LLC Farm has chicken eggs for sale almost year-round. We participate in the Hampstead Farmer's Market in Hampstead, MD on Saturday mornings from May thru October. We supply several groups with eggs as well as offer them for sale at the farm.

Farm Fresh Egg Sales

If you are interested in purchasing Farm Fresh Eggs from Stokes Creek, LLC Farm, please contact us for pricing and availability. In addition to brown eggs (from Sexlink, Rhode Island Red, and Barred Rock chickens), we also have limited supplies of white eggs (from Leghorn chickens) and blue eggs (from Americana and Silkie chickens). The nutritional value of similarly sized eggs is the same, regardless of the color of the egg shell. Our eggs meet and usually exceed USDA Grade A quality standards. They come from Free Range, all naturally fed chickens. We do not use animal byproducts or hormeones in the chicken feed.
